Pakistan banned tiktok yesterday. China’s short video sharing app, TikTok, that was banned in pakistan by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for users across the country yesterday, has said that its working for a comeback in Pakistan but with conditions though.
There in no further details shared, a tweet issued by officials of TikTok Pakistan said that company is working to reinstate its services in the country.
Not to mention, PTA had frequently warned TikTok to self-moderate its content or the app will be blocked in Pakistan for indecent and immoral content.
TikTok, after warnings and a blockade today, appears to have heard the call and is seemingly working on presenting more serious moderation of the content on platform.
However, a majority of internet users are celebrating the ban on app. They are opining that TikTok was spreading indecency in the society and should remain blocked.
- A poll was carried out by TikTok itself is actually saying that majority of contributors want the app to remain blocked in Pakistan.
However, PTA has recommended TikTok to ensure better content moderation in Pakistan and regulatory authority will be ready to revisit its decision.
Which thoroughly means, even if and when back, TikTok won’t be the same again.
